Poetry Where We Meet The World | Emilie Collyer

August 30 @ 9:15 am - 11:15 am
Poetry Workshop 6 | Cyndy Moody

Perth Poetry Festival 2026 · Ear to the Ground

Hopeful. Overwhelmed. Angry. Moved by beauty. Poetry begins where the self meets the world.

Emilie Collyer leads a generative workshop moving between intimate experience and the public, social and political pressures around us. Participants will read contemporary poems that approach this meeting in different ways, then use a range of techniques to generate new work.

The workshop is warm, welcoming and designed to help writers tap into their own distinctive voice.

Emilie Collyer is a poet, playwright and experienced writing facilitator. Her two poetry collections are published by Vagabond Press, and her play Super won the 2026 Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for Drama. She has facilitated writing workshops for more than twenty years.
